How I charge
all about the ca-ching
Dollar, dollar bills y’all
So before you start looking, there are no prices on this page. I have listed some pricing on the bundle options and on the website design page – but that’s it. In my experience – the price I charge needs to be as tailored to you as the work we do (seriously reach out and ask – I don’t do the hard sell – ever).
However, to avoid any issues or problems down the line I take a standard approach to payment with the services I provide.
Any project that’s value is less than $1,000 AUD I take payment upfront, in full, before any work starts.
Any project that’s value is more than $1,000 AUD I take 50% upfront before any work starts. The remaining 50% is due as per the agreed schedule, which is usually when the project is in it’s final stages.
For ongoing projects, payments are made in advance and will be specified in our agreement.
Typical project approach
01. Project Objectives
I like to work from a set fee approach, it makes it much easier for my clients to budget, and it makes it super easy for me to do my finances. HOWEVER, this means we must agree upfront what is included and what’s not. I will let you know in advance if I think something should be in or out – and I expect you to do the same. Changes can be made and costs will be discussed and agreed upfront.
02. Project Bible
A proposal, an agreed statement of works – I like to call this the bible. Once we have worked out what’s in and what’s out I’ll create a document that will be our go-to doc for the duration of the agreement. This will include agreed costings and a timeline for delivery.
03. Payment
As stated above, depending on your project value this is the point of the full payment if less than $1,000 or the first 50% of the value of the project if over $1,000. Work will not start until this milestone has been met.
04. Nuts and Bolts
After the bible has been agreed and the first payment is made we will meet and have a detailed brief of how the work will actually be completed. Depending on what we are working on together it may be just one meeting before work starts or a series of meetings if we are talking social media set-up and your company branding. This will all be outlined in the project bible.
05. Werk, Werk, Werk
At this point, I’ll be going at it like a [insert witty analogy here]. This is where I’ll head off and do the large portion of the work we have agreed on.
06. First Drafts & Templates
I will deliver to you a draft of the completed projects or templates for you to approve depending on what work we are doing together. I aim to have this stage of the project to be about 80% complete so that there is only the adding of sequins and making things as beautiful as possible left to go. It’s important at this stage that approvals are given as soon as possible to ensure we can move through to finalisation.
07. Final Payment/First Monthly Payment
Once drafts are approved the second and final payment is required, or in the case of a subscription service, the first-month payment is made. Once these have cleared into my accounts then we get ready to launch.
08. Launch, Go Live, Lift Off
There’s nothing quite as satisfying as finishing a project, and we will celebrate in style as we watch our little project baby toddle off into the big wide world.
